Quick Steps to Set It Up
Step 1: Get the App Ready
- On **both** computers, go to the Google Drive website (google.com/drive) in your web browser.
- Click "Download Drive for Desktop."
- Run the installer and sign in with your Google email and password.
- Let it finish—now you see a Google Drive folder in your File Explorer!
Step 2: Pick What to Sync
- Find the Google Drive icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen (system tray, near the clock). Click it!
- Choose "Settings" then "Preferences."
- Click "Folders from Drive" on the left.
- Under "My Drive," pick:
- **Stream files** (saves room—files download only when you open them).
- OR **Mirror files** (full copies on your computer for no-internet days).
- Click "Add Folder." Find your music spot (like C:\Music or wherever your songs are).
- Check the box next to it and hit "Save." Boom—it's syncing!
Step 3: Play Your Tunes
- Open File Explorer (the yellow folder icon).
- Look for "Google Drive" in the list on the left.
- Your music shows up there like normal files.
- Add, delete, or move songs? Changes zip to the cloud and pop up on your other computer right away. No waiting!
Cool Choices: Stream vs. Mirror
- **Stream Files**: Think cloud library—see everything, but only grab songs when you play them. Great if your computer is low on space.
- **Mirror Files**: Like a twin copy—everything's on your computer AND in the cloud. Perfect for offline jams.
Pro Tip
Make sure both computers are on and connected to the internet at first. Once set, it works even if one is off. If something's wonky, restart the app or check your internet. Your music adventure awaits!
